Cavan, a beautiful County located 1.5 hours drive from Dublin and just 2 hours from Belfast. It has some of the best hotels in Ireland which means plenty of chef jobs. Cavan is a small County with a population of just over 75,000 people. However, there are still lots of chef jobs Cavan has to offer. It all depends on what you are looking for. You may want to be a chef in a small local café serving to the local community. Or you may have your sights set on being the Head Chef in one of Cavan’s stunning resort hotels. Cavan is a county which borders a total of 6 counties. These are Meath, Westmeath, Longford, Monaghan, Leitrim, and Fermanagh. So, you could easily live in one of these towns and commute to work in Cavan. Depending of course on where you lived in these towns. With its proximity to Northern Ireland, this makes Cavan an attractive location for people North & South of the border.
So, what are the types of chef jobs Cavan has to offer?
Well, you could start off as a commis chef in one of the large restaurants or hotels. From there if you found you had a passion for the industry you could get some formal education and work your way up to Chef de Partie/Sous Chef and then onto the top position of Head Chef or even Executive Head. Even better a lot of the large hotels and resorts would offer some type of staff accommodation which would make the role even more attractive.
