What are blue book hotels and which ones can be found in Irelands Blue Book? In brief, the Blue Book is a collection of carefully selected Irish Country House Hotels, Castles, Historic Manor Houses and Restaurants. Ireland’s Blue Book Association was founded nearly 50 years ago. Moreover, they also ensured the deserved spotlight falls on the properties bridging the gap between standard hotels and B&Bs.
The latest edition counts 53 properties across Ireland which is amazing. Especially since the criteria to become a member is so strict. And specifically, because that just means that now we have even more properties to add to the bucket list. Aside from having a strong individualistic style and character, there are some additional conditions that potential members need to present.
To be counted among the Blue Book Hotels you must also meet the criteria below:
- Uniqueness
- Environmental Awareness
- High Standards and Self-Regulation
