Sales Manager for 4* Hotel in Co Kilkenny

We are currently seeking a Sales Manager ( maternity contract) to join this excellent team in this 4* hotel located in Kilkenny

Reporting into the General Manager, some of the duties of the role will be:

• Actively pursue and refer sales leads to Sales Executives
• Maximising revenue from all market segments i.e., Conference, Events, Wedding, Room Hire and Food & Beverage
• To create a tactical sales plan to include trade shows, sales calls and other opportunities in line with the strategy of the business that includes domestic corporate and international activity.
• To carry out pro-active sales calls developing relationships for the business
• Servicing of existing Key Corporate, Leisure and Conference Accounts for the Hotel
• To host site visits and FAM trips with the sales team
• To have extensive knowledge of competitor resorts/hotels and what business is coming into the area
• To monitor, on a weekly basis, the potential business from all sales leads and to ensure they are appropriately followed through.
• Identify and develop new Key Corporate, Leisure and Conference Accounts for the Hotel
• In conjunction with the Marketing Manager, target and develop an agreed level of PR exposure and activity for the hotel
• To attend trade shows and industry events throughout the year

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Be highly motivated and driven to achieve targets
• Have existing contacts in domestic or international markets
• Will have excellent negotiation and decision making skills
• Will possess excellent communication and organisational skills
• Will have fluency in English, both oral and written
• Will be flexible in their working hours
• Be on top of current industry trends
