Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef de Rang to join the Food and Beverage Team of our hotel, a luxury property in Jersey, The Channel Islands. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Chef de Rang role, with prior luxury hotel and international experience, with a hospitality industry background. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager and the Assistant Restaurant Manager the Chef de Rang will be responsible for looking after and serving restaurant guests, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded and they receive service to a Michelin 4 Rosette level.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Standards
- To maintain an in-depth knowledge of all services, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
- To be fully conversant with the menus, their content and ingredients
- To ensure the restaurant and your station are always clean, tidy and correctly set up for the next service using attention to detail
- To organise the junior waiters to make sure they are working effectively
- To assist the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager when required
- To ensure consistently outstanding service to the guests and maximising business potential
- To deliver service levels that comply with hotel guidelines and ensure a consistently outstanding guest experience
- To be responsible for running a station, greeting guests, explain dishes and assist management with order taking and billing, where necessary
- To display outstanding customer care skills at all times
- To supervise and check that all daily and weekly cleaning duties have been attended to
- To set up the function rooms according to function sheet and take down after the function has finished
- To assist in the service of Private Dining Events
- To be fully aware of opening and closing times and last orders for all services
- To ensure the back of house is set up at all times and kept tidy
- To assist the restaurant staff if help is needed throughout service
- To be pro-active in up-selling

- Be involved in the training and development of staff working under you
- Ensure your uniform and appearance is always presentable
- Attend all training sessions and meetings as required to do so
Health and Safety
